Celebrating Success at Dallam’s KS4–5 Awards Evening
Dallam School’s annual KS4–5 Awards Evening was a wonderful celebration of student achievement, talent and community, held this year in the stunning surroundings of St Peter’s Church, Heversham.
Headteacher Mr Steven Henneberry opened the evening by welcoming students, families, staff and guests:
“At Dallam, our message is simple: Belong here. Learn here. Thrive here. Those words aren’t just a strapline — they’re what tonight is all about. Students who feel they belong have the confidence to take risks and aim high. Students who are determined to learn develop not only knowledge and skills, but also resilience and character. And when those things come together, they truly thrive.”
After his welcome, the audience was treated to a fabulous musical performance by Evie Shone and Tina Mpundu, before Mr Henneberry began presenting the Year 10 awards.
The theme of community shone through the evening, highlighted by Mr Rob Blyth, Head of Business Studies and Head of Careers, who has served at Dallam for over 20 years. In his speech, he reflected on the importance of community in each student’s educational journey.
Awards for Year 11 and Year 12 students followed, before outgoing Head Student Amelia Knox gave a powerful and inspiring speech, encouraging students to be true to themselves in order to succeed.
The programme continued with Year 13 and Sports Awards, before the evening reached its finale with the presentation of the Dallam School Charitable Trust Award. Fittingly, this year’s award went to Mr Rob Blyth, in recognition of more than two decades of service to the school community.
The awards were presented by Mr Alan Gerrard, Chair of Trustees, who also gave the final vote of thanks. The evening closed in style with a piano performance by Evie Shone, sending everyone home uplifted and inspired.
Celebrations were shared with students by proud parents and carers, alongside a strong representation of teaching staff, making the event a true community occasion.
A huge thank you goes to St Peter’s Church, Heversham for providing such a beautiful and atmospheric venue.
At Dallam, belonging comes first – and this evening showed exactly what it means to Belong here. Learn here. Thrive here.
